Research Log06:00 to 16:00. Lots of rain, no monkeys. The other students found some snakes last night, so the researchers talked about the different species. This evening I went paddling up the canal looking for snakes. We saw a parrot snake, night heron, green ibis and lots of spectacled caiman.
Mantled Howler Monkeys - Alouatta palliata
None today, but hopefully more tomorrow. This species is very vocal, and make wonderful alarm clocks for those who need to wake up at the crack of dawn.
