Day 46

May 21
Went into Tortuguero overnight to look for snakes and help Alex collect habitat data. We found 6 snakes total - I found a yellow juvenile eyelash viper, an adult eyelash viper and a cat-eyed snake. A local boy found another yellow juvenile eyelash viper, and Alex got a parrot snake and a blunt-headed tree snake.

Animal of the Day
Red-eyed tree frog - Agalychnis callidryas
This is THE frog to see. I've always wanted to see one. It was asleep on a green leaf when we found it and had an embarrassing moment pretending to see it, before it actually dawned on me what Alex was pointing at.
