Day 38

Research Log
Lucky Friday the 13th! Woke up to blue skies, found spider monkeys right away. Followed them for a while. They were eating monkey combs, a really cool spiky fruit. Great weather for laundry - all my clothes were going moldy. Went swimming. And now Ross, a botanist, has come over to help with plant identification. Lovely day.

Animal of the Day
Green Basilisk - Basiliscus plumifrons
The green basilisk is known as the Lagarto de Jesus Cristo, because it runs on water. It does so by running in such a way as to displace the water and never break the surface tension.
