Research Log
Got out early this morning and went on several trail walks throughout the day looking for monkeys. I got photos of some really cool birds today, so I have to be patient and spread them out over the animal of the day feature. I'm getting plenty of reading time, and have burned through three books already and am now onto 'the Brothers Karamazov'.

Semiplumbeous Hawk - Leucopternis semiplumbeus
This hawk swooped down in front of me on the boardwalk today. The birds here make excellent models, but the lighting makes it challenging to focus on them.
great looking Hawk, any reason it swooped down on you? I am guessing it will be breeding/hatching season at the moment. I will have to treat myself to a bird guide book.
