Research LogRest day. Nothing to report. Rode in the boat through the national park while one researcher went to pick up his microphones in the forest.

Boat-billed Heron - Cochlearius cochlearius
This heron was very patient while tourists took photos, probably because it's nocturnal. In this shot it's preening itself, and I can just imagine the voiceover it would get on BBC's 'Walk on the Wild Side'.
