Day 11

Research Log
06:00 start. Not many monkeys today, but I found some Howlers this afternoon. Same group as yesterday. Finished early today, because the station had a soccer game against the workers at the hotel across the canal. Erica and I played on the hotel team, vs. the university group that is here right now. This evening I helped Alex take measurements of snakes again.

Animal of the Day
Eyelash Viper - Bothriechis schlegelii.
These snakes are venomous, and I helped Alex (the herpetologist PhD candidate) to take measurements. Eyelash vipers have very flexible jaws, heat sensing pits near their eyes, and sheaths over their fangs. They're beautiful!
